FAQS
-
CrossFit combines parts of weightlifting, gymnastics, and plyometrics. The program is designed for athletes to become strong and fit simultaneously. A training session can be performed at a variety of intensities best suited for the individual. Crossfit encourages overall fitness by utilizing workouts that are consistent, that use functional movements, and that strengthen a diverse range of muscles. Every class is led by a coach who will keep you engaged and safe on your fitness journey.
-
CrossFit is not inherently dangerous. Since the program includes simple movement exercises that mimic how our bodies naturally move, anyone can perform them. CrossFit has an injury rate similar to that of common exercises and sports. Injuries can occur when athletes overwork themselves or perform movements their bodies aren't ready for. Here at Crossfit Coalition, our professional coaches’ top priority is to keep the gym class environment safe. New members are put through a vigorous onboarding process to ensure that they have the requisite strength and knowledge before entering group classes.
-
While the majority of our athletes participate in groups, we also offer personal training and an open gym. Our personal training workout plans are customized to the athlete’s goals and are great for learning techniques and being held accountable.
-
One of the great things about CrossFit is that the training can be scaled to suit everyone, regardless of their skill or fitness level. By scaling, the same workout can be adjusted for the individual. This can be done by using different exercises, changing the intensity, reducing or increasing the number of reps, or adjusting the amount of rest. The best way to get better at CrossFit is to start, and in time, you’ll learn to enjoy it.
